My Mistakes And My Positive Changes

Posted by SOB in Uncategorized

Last month I lost $400 odd bucks, which is not bad, considering that I had expected to lose a lot more, the way my campaigns were going in the beginning.  However, this is still my learning stage, and there are a bunch of things that I shouldn’t have done, and a few things that improved my earnings.

1. If you are going to get greedy, be smart about it.  I had an awesome campaign going, and got greedy.  I had an awesome campaign with Azoogle that I was direct linking & was doing well consistently for the last 2 months.  Then late in the month I found another network offering me a few extra cents.  So, instead of starting a whole new campaign, which is what I should have done, I just changed the display and destination urls on the current campaign.  BAM!!!  That campaign just never picked up steam.

2. I was competing in these very highly competitive niches, and using broad matches with next to nothing negative keywords.  BiiiiiG Mistake.  I finally got some good advice from some good folks over at Click Consultants, and changed my keywords to exact match, until I built up some negative keywords.  Phew! That saved me from bleeding negative every day.

3. When you are entering a niche, bid low.  I mean bid $0.10 CPC.  Sure, you will not get the traffic and higher page ranking, but this will help you clean up your act, and get things in order as for tweaking your ads, keywords, and negative keywords.

4. Content network is your friend.  Nuff said!

5. If you notice that your campaign is not performing, and just bleeding, don’t pause it.  Just lower your CPC and tweak it.  Too many pauses and unpauses may put that campaign under review, which will take a few days to restart.

My 2nd Month’s Income As A Wannabe Super Affiliate

Posted by SOB in Uncategorized

Ok, so this is the 1st of the month and most of bloggers and affiliate marketers will be posting their monthly income stats, for bragging rights or just to show what is possible. I gotta first give props to Jonathan for having a blockbuster of a month of $140k.

Anyways, here are my stats:

Total Money Spent: $2195.13

Income: $1708.62

Loss: $486.51

Yeehaw! Couple of things though. This month I took some risks, and tried different offers in EXTREMELY competitive niches, and did ok with some and lost in a couple.

On the bright side, I came across 1 gem of a resource that actually made me turn things around, and helped me achieve some profits right towards the end of the month. The gem is Click Consultants Forum for affiliates. It is not free, but I tried the monthly program with them, since I was not sure what I would be getting into, and I was extremely surprised. The advice there is just amazing, and most experts there are not afraid to give it to you straight. One really awesome benefit is that they give you 6 free landing pages every month (that alone is worth hundreds).

I have paused most of the money losing campaigns, and am redoing the landing pages that I got from Click Consultants, and will restart them again later this month.

My biggest money maker this month again was Azoogle, followed by Incentaclick and Hydra Network.

Tomorrow, I will post my mistakes, and you don’t want miss them.
